But it can't be that you are literally supposed to rng pray to deal crit crush damage or something several times to kill a horse with brain crush? In cheat engine I see a factor called "critical crash factor" which could relate to this. I've seen a lot when playing games, and yes, this game is very wonky in a lot ways. What if the enemy dies before you can do it? It worked though, so I didn't think further. Originally posted by Kiru:When I first saw a quest requiring brain crush to kill an enemy, I got worried. But the normal crash factor did not influence anything, so I have no idea how this really works.

Once the shell is gone, throwing an item at them either deals half the break damage or everything, with no reason I can see. Sometimes throwing one thing breaks them, sometimes throwing 4 doesn't even do it. Like the enemy in the same area, with the shell. In general it feels like breaking things is SUPER random. So, is there any way to crush an enemy before killing it in some kind of fancy way? I have lightning power, speed, and duplication available. I even have one of those really not doing anything passive boosts to crush on my throws. There was literally nothing I could possibly do. With my normal level and power, the enemy in question (Auger Sabbat, the Horses in the abandoned line / tunnel) would always die to damage. The only way I could beat this quest is give myself 999 brain attack (I tried reducing my attack first, but then I realized that crush damage is based on the respective attack stat). When I first saw a quest requiring brain crush to kill an enemy, I got worried.
